The Position: 

In this role you will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team of people with experience in the AOD and Leaving Care fields. You will be responsible for ensuring service agreements and targets are met and ultimately that the best service possible is delivered to our clients. You will be joining an established team with significant experience. You will also have support from a good network of peers within the region.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Therapy or other AOD counselling related discipline and experience.
  • Experience in staff supervision and the administration of other staff support structures.
  • Extensive familiarity with a wide range of theoretical approaches to AOD counselling and young people leaving DHHS care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, with the ability to show leadership in program development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with government, non-government organisations and community groups.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills, including the ability to appropriately balance competing demands and interests of key stakeholders such as clients, caregivers, DHHS and community organisations.
  • Working knowledge of specific AOD related data systems and reporting requirements e.g Penelope, Redicass and VADC.

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
