The opportunity:

Open to current students, new graduates or perhaps people wanting flexible part time hours (between school hours).

You will join Integrated Family Services a large team of around 20 practitioners. You will have the opportunity to learn about Family Services, develop your case management, engagement and risk assessment skills whilst supporting the needs of families, young people and children.

 

More details:

Hume Moreland Family Services is a large thriving dynamic team. You will be supervised by a senior worker to support the whole Family Services team with casework tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your casework skills and learn alongside more experienced workers.

This role is now available as the previous incumbent has progressed in to a level 5 Family Services Practitioner role.

 

What to expect:

  • You will develop the skills to provide basic case management and support services to clients of the program, under the guidance and supervision of a more senior employee/Team Leader.
  • Engage with children, families and young people and work alongside the practitioners to promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Provide practical support to children, families and young people, under the guidance and supervision of a more senior employee, to help them achieve positive outcomes.
  • Be flexible and responsive to the needs of children young people and families to provide case support activities such as linkages with community supports referrals and material aid.
  • Liaise with relevant practitioners and senior practitioners and services in relation to the provision of case support services.
  • Support more experienced employees in day-to-day requirements to manage caseloads across the team.
  • Support senior staff with facilitation of groups, visits or assessments
  • Collaborate with and work within a multi-disciplinary team that is responsive to the developmental, gender and cultural needs of young people.

 

What you need to know:

  • 22.8 hours, 3 days per week or flex to work across 4 days if it suits.
  • Fixed term to July 2026.
  • The role has become available due to the previous incumbent moving in to the Family Services program at level 5.
  • You would have flexibility with study needs if required.
  • Salary $88,090 at full time, plus super plus, salary packaging (Level 4 SCHCADS).
  • Please pro rata the above amount to 22.8 hours (hourly rate, $44.58).
