Case Manager- Kinship Care

Kinship placements in out-of-home care serve as the primary and preferred option when a young person cannot reside with their parents. This field is experiencing rapid growth, making it an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

 

Your role:

  • A rounded approach engaging schools, families and carers in support and case management.
  • Have a passion for working with children and young people impacted by trauma who reside in out of home care.
  • Have creative thinking and problem-solving skills to engage those who might be resistant to supports.
  • Committed to achieving positive outcomes for carers, young people and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with their team and team leader.
  • Continuously liaise with DFFH Child Protection.

 

The skills we want you to use day to day:  

  • The agility and skill to engage with complex individuals.
  • Using creative thinking and skill to engage carers, families and children.
  • A good knowledge of and a trauma informed approach.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to meet timelines.
  • Sophisticated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care and a passion for learning.
  • Strong engagement, communication, advocacy and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong written communication.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement to promote the Best Interests of children.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management.

 

What you need to know:

  • A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $97,377 plus super.
  • Full time hours. Fixed term to 31st March 2026.
  • Flexible through the increments up to 5.3 (dependent upon experience).
  • Based at our fantastically located office in Box Hill.
  • Office based with some flex to work from home but responsive to change.
