Make your mark providing staff development and secondary consultation
Part time|0.9 fixed term to October 2026 offering a non-working day every 2 weeks
Your role:
This is an exciting opportunity to support the North-East Melbourne Family Services program area where family violence is a presenting issue. As a senior practitioner you will apply a contemporary intersectional lens to working with both people using family violence as well as those experiencing it. This will be in the context of working with often complex and vulnerable families. As well as direct case-management, you will provide family violence consultations and work alongside Family Services practitioners to build their capacity regarding responses to family violence.
The skills you will use day to day:
Providing advice and support to Family Services practitioners around family violence, including risk assessments, safety plans and engaging justice system responses
Providing support to Family Services Practitioners including joint visits, co -work and secondary consultation.
Conduct risk and needs assessments using relevant and contemporary frameworks, theories and practice models, including Safe and Together.
Significant knowledge and experience in the use of current and relevant legislative frameworks such as the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework and Information Sharing Schemes.
Demonstrated understanding of the family violence system and the impact of family violence on women, children and men.
Significant demonstrated experience in providing family violence informed practice interventions to improve safety and enhance family functioning with families who have multiple and complex needs
Advanced knowledge and understanding of the structural inequalities that contribute to family violence, including gender double standards around male privilege, fatherhood and masculinity.
Manage a small complex caseload that involves families experiencing family violence.
What you need to know:
A salary at SCHCADS level 6 which equates to around $110,102 plus super.
Flexible through the increments up to 6.3 (dependent upon experience).
Based at our office in Preston, with the option to take advantage of our flexible working culture.
9 Day fortnight, fixed term, to October 2026.
