  • The development and maintenance of a safe, secure and planned environment where the developmental needs of children and young people are effectively met as per program guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, support and supervision to residential care staff and play a lead role in the creation of a culture that promotes healing from the range of traumatic experiences of the young people.
  • Coordinate therapeutic team meetings, liaise with internal and external stakeholders and ensure an ongoing culture of collaboration, resilience and therapeutic care

Who are we looking for:
  • A high level knowledge of adolescent and child development and the theories relating to Trauma and Attachment as the aftermath of abuse and neglect.
  • Highly developed skills in managing the challenging and confronting behaviours that arise from this; in a calm and consistent manner and modelling this to staff.

  • The ability to provide strong leadership, direction and coaching to residential care staff.
  • The ability to oversee all facets and requirements of the residential program as it relates to community, agency and government expectations and requirements.
  • Experience in and/or understanding of the child protection system.

What makes this such a great role for you:

This is a great opportunity to join one of Victoria’s leading organisations that has led major change to the system through its services and impact and is an opportunity for you to be a part of our continued journey in working and servicing the needs of vulnerable children youth and families.
