A great part time, 4 day per week role for anyone passionate about working to strengthen the capacity of families to meet the needs of their children through group work. You will join a dynamic team working with vulnerable families and children with complex needs located at Morwell, who deliver programs across Gippsland.

Your role:

The position forms part of ParentZone Gippsland, a regional parenting service dedicated to strengthening family life by promoting positive parent–child interactions and relationships. As a Parentzone Group Facilitator, you will support parents, carers, and professionals to build their skills and confidence through the delivery of a range of parenting groups, supported playgroups, workshops, resources, and training. The parenting programs are delivered in a flexible format—in person and online—allowing accessibility for families across Gippsland.

The position is based in Morwell and you will work alongside a dynamic group of community development workers and group facilitators. 

Parentzone programs cater to families of all ages and stages, from newborns to teenagers, and address a wide range of parenting challenges, including family violence, mental health, and the complexities of raising children in diverse circumstances.

A key component of this role involves facilitating Supported Playgroups for children aged 0–5 years across the Latrobe region, delivering smalltalk education to parents and carers. These sessions emphasise connection, attachment, and children’s development through quality everyday interactions.

The skills you will use day to day:

• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and families attending the supported playgroups.
• Complete required documentation, attendance records, and reporting in line with program guidelines
• Experience facilitating groups—ideally playgroups, or parent education sessions.
• Implementing professional training and working with children and families in a group context.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and working with families facing complex challenges.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Office location is Morwell.
