Your role:

In this role you work at our Lazarus Centre Breakfast Program at St Peters Eastern Hill every weekend from 7am until 10am. You will be part of a small team of employees and volunteers that provide meals, emergency relief, and support to a large number of people that experience primary and secondary homelessness. 

 

The skills you will use day to day:

  • Your experience in the community services field relevant to the role, particularly in relation to homelessness and mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both clients and volunteers.
  • Well-developed time management skills.

 

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to offer leadership and encouragement to volunteers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice principles and supporting people from all backgrounds.
  • Competent written communication skills.
  • Effective communication skills, including conflict management skills and negotiation skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of program participants and staff.

 

All the details:

  • Casual.
  • Saturday and Sunday shifts from 7am until 10am, with other shifts available during the week when cover is required. 
  • This is a SCHADS 3.1 role $38.65 plus 25% casual loading ($48.31 per hour) plus Saturday/Sunday penalties.
