About Gippsland Community Legal Service.

Gippsland Community Legal Services (GCLS) is an independent non-profit service managed by Anglicare Victoria.

GCLS is funded by the Federal and State Governments to deliver free legal services throughout the Gippsland region. The mission of GCLS is to improve access to justice for all members of the Gippsland Community by providing legal advice and advocacy, empowering individuals, and groups through community education, and to remove systemic injustice by advocating for law reform.

About the role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Principal Lawyer to join a strong leadership team. This position has become available due growth in the service.  

The role is full time and ongoing, based in Morwell, with ability to travel to other work sites and an attractive salary and benefits are offered.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a strong leadership team within the service managing day to day operations
  • Ensure the service delivers high quality services to clients
  • Provide high quality legal supervision to employees
  • Engage in complex legal casework as required
  • Drive the services strategic agenda and identity areas for improvement and growth
