Family Services:

Family Services Programs are delivered through a range of tailored services to strengthen families and improve the wellbeing of children, and can include individual, family and group work. These programs aim to increase the capacity of parents to better meet the needs of their children, which leads to better opportunities and outcomes for children. Family Services promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people by supporting and empowering families using strength-focused approaches to fully realise their potential. Many families have long histories of involvement with Child Protection and community agencies and require flexible and responsive interventions to promote the best social, emotional, educational and health outcomes for their children.. 

The Position: 

The Alliance Facilitator will work in partnership with funded partners of the IGFSA, Family Safety Victoria (The Orange Door) and the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and implement practice and workflow guidelines, procedures and manuals for The Orange Door (TOD) into Family Service Programs within Inner Gippsland. The role will also update existing agreements, manuals and protocol documents of the IGFSA and lead key initiatives identified within the IGFSA catchment plan.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level with substantial experience; post graduate qualification; associate diploma with substantial experience; attained through previous appointments, service and/or study with a combination of experience, expertise, and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level.
  • Experience in planning, development and implementation of service systems and processes particularly in relation to Human Services and/or Family Services.
  • Expert knowledge and experience working in clinical and social services management roles: demonstrated experience in risk assessment and risk management; demonstrated cross-sectoral expertise in relevant disciplines, including but not limited to a knowledge of the drivers/causes of family violence, child development, attachment and trauma theories; and, a deep understanding of the role of the law and legal system in the context of responding to family violence and vulnerable children and families.

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
