Tell me more:

The Team Leader will be instrumental in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the services to isolated and vulnerable families that require family/parenting and multi-faceted interventions. You will co-ordinate the delivery of these high-quality programs that provide genuine and positive outcomes for clients. 

This is a role where you will get to work in conjunction with the Program Manager to plan and implement responses in relation to sector and service developments whilst ensuring appropriate processes are in place to enable continuous improvement of services and to promote best practice and ongoing quality improvement of the program.

As the team leader we also want to see you provide ongoing support, supervision, performance management, learning and development of team members across family services programs.

We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader – Family Services to oversee operations across our Rosebud and Frankston sites. This leadership position plays a critical role in supporting families to improve child wellbeing and safety through tailored, strength-based interventions.

Family Services programs offer individual, family, and group-based support designed to enhance parenting capacity, strengthen family relationships, and promote positive outcomes for children and young people. Many of the families we work with have complex needs and a history of involvement with Child Protection or other community agencies.

 

The skills you will use day to day:

  • Your understanding of the Child Protection, OOHC placement and support services and the family services system, including the legislative and policy framework.
  • Flexible, responsive and evidence-informed interventions to address the needs of children and improve family functioning.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin casework practice (including theories of trauma, child attachment, child development and abuse)
  • Experience and skills in developing and leading a team that is inclusive and engaged, and providing staff with good quality supervision, coaching and professional development.
  • Skills and experience in delivering programs and services within required timeframes and budget parameters.
  • Provide effective day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to your team across the Rosebud and Frankston sites.
  • Promote an engaged, collaborative, and supportive team environment through coaching, mentoring, and reflective supervision.
  • Ensure service delivery is trauma-informed, strength-based, and aligned with risk and safety frameworks.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate documentation in relation to supervision, staff development, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Drive service quality, ensuring programs meet or exceed client and contractual expectations.
