  • Own complex employee relations matters, investigations and employment compliance.
  • Influence policy, practice and decision-making across a diverse, multi-site organisation.
  • Build consistent, fair and defensible approaches to employee relations.

Your role

This is not your average HR role. At Anglicare Victoria, the work we do supporting children, young people and families brings unique workplace complexities, requiring sound judgement, a strong understanding of employment legislation and the ability to navigate sensitive matters with care.

As our Employee Relations Lead, you will bring specialist expertise to complex workplace investigations, employment matters, legislative interpretation and policy development. Working closely with the HR Manager, HR Business Partners and senior leaders, providing trusted advice, representing Anglicare Victoria in external employment matters where required, and strengthening our internal capability.

This is a newly established role with the autonomy to shape how the work is done. You can help build consistent employee relations frameworks across our divisions, strengthen governance and ensure our policies and practices keep pace with legislative change.

Make your mark

  • Lead complex investigations: Manage sensitive workplace matters with procedural fairness, sound judgement and defensible outcomes.
  • Be the specialist people turn to: Partner with HR Business Partners and senior leaders on complex employee relations matters, including misconduct, grievances, performance and workplace conflict.
  • Shape policy and practice: Review and develop HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks, translating legislative changes into practical action.
  • Represent and influence: Manage employment disputes and represent Anglicare Victoria in Fair Work Commission matters and VCAT proceedings, where appropriate.
  • Strengthen consistency and safety: Identify systemic risks, support psychosocial safety and respectful workplace practices, and establish consistent approaches across divisions.
  • Build organisational capability: Coach leaders and HR colleagues, support early intervention and constructive resolution, and develop confidence in managing employee matters.

You’ll bring the expertise to work through complex issues independently, the communication skills to influence and appropriately challenge, and the judgement to balance organisational risk with fairness and care for people.

What our people say- “There’s a kindness in the way the organisation deals with its people. It still feels like a smaller agency, with that sense that it has amazing influence, which is led from the top, but then there’s this respect between the regions as well. It’s like it’s family, but it's so influential in the industry as well.”
