Anglicare Victoria is committed to opportunities that help our sector grow. We are a 'learning organisation' with a focus on Work Integrated Learning for tertiary students across the state. Field Placements allow students to apply their theoretical learning in the real world. We host over 200 students every year.
Students are surrounded by an encouraging and supportive team, who provide professional development and help students realise their career aspirations.
We engage students studying in the areas of social work, youth work and community services. Placements are limited - sadly we can't host every student who applies so we encourage students to consider volunteering or casual work opportunities while they finish their studies!
Anglicare Victoria collaborates with key education providers:
Students from these providers should talk to their placement coordinator to secure a placement with Anglicare Victoria.
Anglicare Victoria are proud participants of the Department of Families Fairness and Housing's three-year pilot program supporting emerging professionals. The CASS Graduate Program was developed in partnership with key stakeholders and supports grads to transition from student to employment.
Participants engage in 12-month of activities alongside employment, including:
The program equips graduates with additional skills and resources to boost their confidence and flourish in the community sector.

"I can't remember the last time I took in so much new knowledge in such a short timeframe. This was only possible because my team were so willing to share their knowledge and experience."
"I feel as though AV really considers the feelings of students on placement and workers make themselves available to assist. It's been a great learning experience, and I have come away with a lot of industry knowledge."
"The Navigator team at Werribee are absolutely incredible. It has been such a great first experience in the social work field."
"The whole experience was very rewarding and challenging at the same time. The training on Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander culture was fantastic and AV's cultural awareness training is excellent."
"The placement I just completed was the most supportive and friendliest, it was really accommodating to LGBTI and First Nations people. I felt supported and feel I have grown as a professional and individual."
