The Navigator Program is currently recruiting for an Intake & Active Hold Worker as a backfill role, fixed term until January 2027.
Position: Navigator Intake & Active Hold Worker
Details: Part-time, 0.6 days per fortnight.
Level: SCHADS 5
Location: Morwell, with outreach and travel across Inner Gippsland as required.
The program:
The Navigator program works with young people aged 12 to 17 years who have disengaged from education, to re-engage in their education through effective assertive outreach and case management support. AV and Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation have partnered to deliver an innovative Navigator program that works collaboratively with young people, their families, schools, communities, Local Learning and Employment Networks, and DE Area teams to provide holistic support targeted at re-engaging to education.
The Role:
This role supports young people and their families by conducting intake assessments, identifying barriers to education, and providing active hold assistance while they await case management. It involves offering guidance to families, making appropriate referrals, maintaining strong relationships with schools and services, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. The position also collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure timely access to relevant supports and may provide light touch case management when required.
Position Requirements:
A relevant tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma level in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist, Welfare, Occupational Therapy and/or related behavioural sciences. Or significant experience in a related field to carry out the functions of this role.
