Make a move:

This is an opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to provide practical, trusted advice across a large and diverse division of Anglicare Victoria.

Working closely with an HR Business Partner, you'll support managers across day-to-day HR and employee relations matters from performance management and investigations through to disciplinary processes, provide awards advice and support the development and implementation of great people practices building a great employee experience that supports employee engagement and capability development.

The role is hands-on and operational, giving you the opportunity to build your experience across a broad range of HR and broader people and culture matters while developing strong relationships with managers and teams.

You'll have the autonomy to manage your own work, with the support and supervision of an experienced HRBP when matters are more complex or require escalation.

Make your mark:

You will work across a division with around 560 employees getting to know the people, teams and priorities behind the work.

Your role will be about more than applying policies and processes. You will help leaders build their confidence in managing people, provide sound advice when situations are difficult and support good-quality, fair and consistent HR practice.

There is also an opportunity to contribute beyond the immediate day-to-day. As the division moves through a period of change, you'll have the chance to contribute to improving people practices, respond to insights from employee engagement surveys and support leaders to build stronger teams.

It's a role that offers breadth, autonomy and genuine employee relations and organisational development experience, while giving you the opportunity to shape how you work and continue developing your HR career.

You'll be part of a collaborative People & Culture team, with access to expertise across HR Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Learning, OH&S and Wellbeing.

What are we looking for?

You'll be an experienced HR practitioner who is comfortable providing advice and taking ownership of day-to-day matters.

You'll bring:

  • Around 2–3 years experience in generalist HR or employee relations
  • Experience advising managers on HR policies, procedures, awards and employment conditions
  • Experience supporting or conducting workplace investigations
  • Confidence working with performance management and other employee relations matters
  • Passion for making improvements in the employee lifecycle and the experience employees have
  • Sound judgement and the ability to work independently while recognising when to seek advice or escalate
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and coaching skills
  • An ability to approach sensitive matters with fairness, empathy and professionalism
  • A willingness to reflect, learn and use feedback and supervision to strengthen your practice

A relevant HR qualification is desirable but not essential. This is not a graduate role either, we are looking for someone who has already developed practical HR experience and can bring that foundation to the role.

Make it work:

  • $93,045.60 actual Total Remuneration Package for 30.4 hours per week plus salary packaging
  • 0.8 FTE permanent, 30.4 hours per week
  • Flexibility to work your hours across four or five days
  • Hybrid working, with regular time in the office and approximately one day working from home
  • Based across Preston, Broadmeadows and Collingwood, with occasional travel across the northern division which spans from metro Melbourne to Mildura, with a large team in Bendigo
  • Pool cars available for travel.
  • Thursday is our key team office day
  • Wellbeing support through Well Worth It!, access to EAP, plus discounted private health insurance and Fitness Passport
  • A supportive People & Culture team and experienced HRBP who will help you continue to grow
  • Join an organisation committed to creating positive change for children, young people and families across Victoria

What our people say “The opportunities, the innovation, the commitment to change and working with vulnerable families, young people and communities. You come into this work to make a difference and you can do that here.”
