About the Role

You will join the team at The Orange Door Bentleigh. Work within a specialist Child Wellbeing discipline within an Integrated Practice Framework to deliver Hub services, whilst applying a holistic lens across the whole family system

As a Practitioner you will support people with advice with a focus on risk assessment, engagement, and provision of an initial response and as a source of information to people referred to the Hub. You will work collaboratively as part of an integrated practice approach to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns through the provision of:

Screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions;

Allocation services and coordination of referrals; Collaborative working with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning, including participating in case conferences, meetings and the resolution of stakeholder issues.

 

Make your mark:

  • Use your experience in child protection, child and family services, or family violence.
  • Have confidence navigating legislative and policy frameworks to inform risk assessment and planning.
  • With a strong understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect.
  • You will be conducting risk and needs assessments and developing safety plans.
  • Ability to actively engage vulnerable children, young people and families.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.
  • Use collaborative practice skills within multidisciplinary environments.
  • Recognise the capability of your colleagues and show an ability to recognise and identify limits of own expertise and to seek advice or refer clients to other specialists 

Make it work:

  • A salary starting at around $105,557 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 5 SCHADS)
  • Negotiable dependent upon your years of experience or current SCHCADS level.
  • Fixed term contract position until August 2027
  • Position will be based at the Bentleigh Access Point.
  • 9am–5pm hours offering predictability in a complex sector
  • You will be supported by Practice Leaders, Team Leaders and Senior Practitioners. Risk is shared. Practice is reflective. You are not working in isolation.

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master’s Degrees are required to work at The Orange Door. If you hold a Diploma, then you will need to complete further study and complete a higher level of education within the next 10 years.
