Make your mark:

We are seeking a Senior Therapeutic Practitioner to join our Therapeutic Interventions Family Violence Team in the Lower Goulburn region. This hybrid role supports clients across the Strathbogie, Murrindindi and Mitchell Shire local government areas. This is a work from home role with outreach to community spaces and schools across the listed government areas. Central hub spaces in Seymour and Wallan.

You will be working with adults, young people and children, who have experienced Family Violence, we work individually, in dyads, and with whole-of-family. The program’s aim is to aid in recovery from the experience of family violence. With a focus on safety, relationships, connection and empowerment. Many of the families referred to this program experience multiple intersectionality’s. To address the complexity of these intersectionality’s we are seeking someone with experience in a therapeutic setting.

 

Skills and experience: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level with substantial experience
  • Trauma-informed, phased based treatment supporting families to ensure recovery includes safety, relationships, empowerment and connection.
  • Knowledge of principals of Safe and Together Model, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Family Therapy, Shark Cage® model, or other relevant therapeutic models.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of current and relevant theoretical frameworks in relation to working with parents and children in the context of family violence, including effective risk assessment and safety planning. 
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a strengths based framework that empowers families, maximises their choices and recognises their contributions and expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with a broad range of families, including but not limited to First Peoples, families from various culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, families living with a disability, kinship carers and grandparents, and LGBTQIA+ families. 
  • Demonstrated experience in group work, working with families and dyadic work.

 

Make it work:

  • You get a salary starting at $115,339
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
  • SCHCADS award level 6
  • Part time, permanent. 4 days per week. 0.8. 30.4 hours (pro rata salary)
  • Work in community with various office locations across the Goulburn Region.
  • Use your own vehicle for travel. We reimburse for travel per km. You are travelling daily to your hubs with one day at home per week if not in community.
