About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior HSW Project Officer to lead the delivery of high‑impact initiatives focused on psychosocial risk management, including occupational violence and aggression (OVA) and compliance.

This is a senior, role suited to a proactive HSW professional who can expertly navigate complex operational environments, influence at all levels, and translate legislative requirements into practical, sustainable solutions. You will play a critical role in protecting the psychosocial health, safety and wellbeing of our employees while driving meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior HSW Project Officer, you will:

  • Lead complex projects from concept to implementation, including stakeholder engagement, change management and evaluation for AVs Psychological Health Action Plan and deliver comprehensive OVA prevention and response frameworks, including risk assessments, controls, and support incident response.
  • Provide expert advice on WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and regulatory expectations, particularly relating to psychosocial risk.
  • Analyse incident data, trends and root causes to inform evidence‑based interventions.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports, briefings and recommendations for senior leaders and AV Board.
  • Support continuous improvement through audits, reviews and assurance activities.

 

About You

You are a confident, credible HSW professional with demonstrated experience managing sensitive and complex risk domains. You bring both strategic insight and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.

You will have:

  • Significant experience in HSW advisory roles, with a strong focus on psychosocial risk and OVA
  • Proven capability to lead and deliver complex safety and wellbeing projects
  • Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, including psychosocial hazard obligations
  • Highly developed influencing, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline and/or extensive experience in the field of Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
  • Relevant professional certification (desirable)
