Your new role:

Anglicare Victoria is launching a new statewide Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) service across Victoria’s therapeutic court programs, supporting participants through the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP), Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) and Drug Court pathways.

We are seeking Team Leaders to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of this innovative service model. You will support clinicians working across Drug Court, ARC and CISP programs, ensuring they have the guidance, supervision and support needed to provide effective, evidence-informed interventions.

Working closely with the Program Manager, court partners and internal stakeholders, you will help establish a strong practice culture built on:

  • Trauma-informed approaches.
  • Recovery-oriented practice.
  • Harm minimisation principles.
  • Therapeutic justice.
  • Collaboration and continuous improvement.

 

Make Your Mark

Provide clinical leadership and support

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and supervision to AOD clinicians.
  • Support reflective practice and professional decision-making.
  • Promote evidence-informed approaches to assessment, counselling and treatment planning.
  • Assist clinicians to navigate complex presentations including substance use, dual diagnosis, trauma and social disadvantage.

Build confidence in a new service

  • Support the implementation of a new statewide AOD model.
  • Help establish consistent practices, processes and ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to service development.

Support strong partnerships

  • Work collaboratively with the Program Manager, court teams, justice partners and community services.
  • Encourage effective communication and coordination across multidisciplinary environments.
  • Support clinicians engaging with courts, referrals pathways and external providers.

Develop a positive team culture

  • Create a supportive environment where clinicians feel trusted, valued and connected.
  • Encourage innovation, curiosity and continuous learning.
  • Support practitioners to balance accountability with person-centred therapeutic practice.

 

About You

You are an experienced AOD professional who enjoys supporting others and believes great outcomes come from great practice environments.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering AOD interventions including assessment, counselling, psychoeducation and treatment planning.
  • Experience providing clinical guidance, mentoring or informal leadership to practitioners.
  • Strong understanding of substance use, dual diagnosis, trauma-informed practice and recovery approaches.
  • Confidence working with complexity and supporting staff through challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multiple services and systems.

Court experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who understands therapeutic practice, enjoys working with complexity and is motivated by the opportunity to build something new.

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, AOD, Community Services or related discipline.
  • Cert IV AOD or demonstrated AOD competencies.
  • Experience providing alcohol and other drug assessment, counselling or treatment services.

Desirable:

  • Leadership, supervision or practice development experience.
  • Experience within justice, forensic, health or community service environments.
