Your role:

The role involves the provision of an in-home family casework service, working in partnership with families with the aim of strengthening parenting capacity and family resilience.  The work involves taking steps to reduce risks to children's safety and wellbeing and that of other family members, as well as working with families to empower them to enhance their parenting capacity and family functioning and therefore to improve outcomes for children.

The skills you will use day to day:

  • A good understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect and experience in applying relevant theoretical approaches to deliver outcomes.
  • Conduct risk and needs assessments using relevant and contemporary frameworks, theory, and practice models.
  • Creating viable safety plans with families to mitigate risks from family violence, suicidality, and for children with high-risk social behaviours.
  • Create and chair multi-disciplinary, wrap-around care teams to enhance family safety, stability and wellbeing, with planned ongoing support in line with increasing family capacity.
  • Use of ECMS for all case records and data
  • Undertaking initial comprehensive Best Interests Assessments (BIA) and BIA update assessments at closure
  • Completing initial and closing North Carolina Family Assessment Scale (NCFAS)
  • Skills in case management, including developing community linkages.

  • A salary starting at around $100,000 plus super, plus salary packaging (Level 5 SCHADS)
  • Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.
  • Office location: Wonthaggi
  • Permanent. Full time hours.
