About the Role

  • Lead a residential care home supporting 4 young people and a team of 8 youth workers
  • Embed a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach in all aspects of care
  • Balance hands-on youth work with leadership, supervision, and operational oversight
  • Oversee care planning, documentation, and case management requirements
  • Run care team meetings and provide regular staff supervision and team leadership
  • Manage site operations including compliance, reporting, petty cash, and maintenance
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders such as DFFH

  • You’re an experienced residential care leader who can confidently run a house end-to-end
  • You bring strong knowledge of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic care
  • You lead from the front comfortable being on shift while guiding your team
  • You stay calm, consistent, and decisive in the face of complex and challenging behaviours
  • You know how to build and strengthen team culture through support, structure, and clarity
  • You’re resilient, independent, and able to hold a space for both staff and young people
  • You bring experience from similar environments (residential care, youth justice or child protection)
  • You genuinely care about your team, your work, and improving outcomes for young people

 

As a House Coordinator at AV you’ll receive:

  • SCHCADS level 6 remuneration starting at around $110,000 plus super.
