Your role:
A Better Way (ABW) creates safety for woman and children by directly working one on one with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal fathers, who use violence. This program has adopted cultural healing approaches specifically designed for fathers who identify as Aboriginal. The program assists and supports fathers to address family violence behaviours and develop positive relationships with their children.
A Better Way uses a trauma-informed approach that is underpinned by the innovative Safe & Together model. Fathers receive a flexible and individualised, tailored treatment approach.
A Better Way works with families for four to six months – to increase safety and wellbeing. It links families with other help such as alcohol and drug services, parenting courses or mental health support
